Mommy & Me Session at Somers Beach, Montana | Victoria & Torrance

Some photo sessions stay with you long after the sun sets — and Victoria and her sweet son Torrance’s mommy and me session at Somers Beach, Montana, is one I’ll cherish forever. Torrance was just under two years old at the time of our shoot, and when I tell you he is one of the cutest, sweetest, smiliest little humans, I truly mean it. From the moment we met, his gentle personality shone through. He was a bit shy at first — something Victoria had thoughtfully shared with me ahead of time through my client questionnaire, which always helps me tailor each session to best capture real, authentic moments.


A Golden Hour Mommy & Me Photoshoot at Somers Beach

Somers Beach gave us the dreamiest setting for this Montana mommy and me photography session. Warm golden hour light wrapped around us as we explored the shoreline together, creating a calm, playful environment where Torrance could slowly warm up and be himself. We played with rocks, soaked in the soft evening sun, and truly enjoyed what felt more like the sweetest little playdate than a photoshoot. Those are often the sessions that produce the most meaningful images — when there’s no pressure, just presence.


A Beautiful Mother–Son Bond

Victoria is such a stunning, glowing woman — inside and out. Not only is she an incredibly talented makeup artist behind Makeup by V, but she is also one of the most caring, attentive moms I’ve had the joy of photographing. You can see her love so clearly in the way Torrance looks at her, plays with her, and finds comfort simply being close. Every glance, every giggle, every tiny hand reaching for hers spoke volumes about their bond. The way he lights up around her is something truly special.


Natural & Emotional Family Photography in Montana

As the session went on, Torrance’s shy smiles turned into full grins, curious exploration, and sweet snuggles with his mama. Capturing that progression — from bashful to completely at ease — is one of my favorite parts of photographing young children.

Ending the evening with a goodbye hug from Torrance was the absolute sweetest moment. It was such an honor to meet both of them and document this season of their lives together.


This mommy and me photoshoot was a beautiful reminder of why family photography matters so much. These fleeting stages, the small moments, and the everyday love are what become the most treasured memories.
