Leisure Park Senior Session with Macy


There are some mornings in the Flathead Valley when everything slows down just enough for you to realize how lucky we are to live here. Macy’s senior session at Leisure Park in Kalispell was one of those evenings — the kind that reminds me why I love being a Flathead Valley photographer.


This was my first time photographing Macy, and I was so excited to meet her. She has the kind of presence that makes a session feel effortless — warm, genuine, and totally herself. So when she chose Leisure Park, a spot filled with charm and tucked-away beauty, I knew it was going to suit her perfectly. It’s one of those underrated Kalispell locations that always surprises me with how photogenic it is, especially for Montana senior photos.


Her sweet mom joined us, and honestly, it made the whole session even more special. There’s something about having a mom nearby — the quiet encouragement, the way she lights up watching her daughter step into such a big season of life — it brings a different kind of magic to the experience. As a Kalispell senior photographer, these little moments between moms and their seniors are some of my favorites to capture. The three of us wandered through open fields, tree-lined paths, and those signature pockets of golden light that Leisure Park hides so well.


Even with fall still a few weeks away, the hints of change were already settling in. Soft warm tones were starting to appear in the leaves, just enough to give us that early-autumn glow without fully diving into the season. It was the perfect setting for the variety we captured throughout the morning — one of the reasons so many families love choosing the Flathead Valley for portrait sessions.


Macy moved through each set of photos with so much ease — playful moments, quiet moments, candid laughter, and those soft editorial poses she pulls off so naturally. With every corner we explored, the light just kept getting better, giving us a mix of dreamy highlights and warm, hazy backdrops. It felt like the park aligned with us at every turn, the way it so often does during Kalispell senior sessions.


We wrapped up near the pond as the sun dipped behind the trees, giving the sky that slight watercolor wash that Leisure Park is famous for. Watching Macy take in that first bit of light, with her mom looking on proudly, felt like the perfect closing chapter to an already beautiful session.
